| In August of 1977, Elvis had just "left the building" for the last time, the Space Shuttle took its first flight on the back of a 747, and a local high school team that was too small, too slow, and without a championship heritage was about to embark on a flight of their own that would have a positive impact on the school, the town, and would defy the oddsmakers to bring the first State Football Championship to the town of Blacksburg. |
